DC 37 honors fallen heroes of 9/11

Four DC 37 members lost their lives, three in the service of others, in the collapse of the World Trade Center. To honor their memory on the fifth anniversary of 9/11, DC 37 placed a wreath alongside the plaque at union headquarters that commemorates the lives of the four: Emergency Medical Service Paramedic Carlos Lillo of Local 2507, EMS Lieutenant Ricardo Quinn of Local 3621, Fire Dept. Chaplain the Rev. Mychal Judge of Local 299, and OTB Betting Clerk Chet Louie of Local 2021.

DC 37 Executive Director Lillian Roberts noted that, “We should never forget the contributions our members made on 9/11. To remind us of their sacrifice, we have placed a wreath in their memory.”

“A lot has changed over the last five years,” said EMTs and Paramedics Local 2507 President Patrick Bahnken. “But no matter where peoplecome down in regard to the war in Iraq and all the other political issues, the foremost thought in my mind today, is that I miss my friends.”
