Patients Family Honors HHC workers
To
show his appreciation for the excellent care and attention he got at the Dr. Susan
Smith McKinney Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brooklyn, Keith Chase and
his family honored the members of Local 420 Sept. 1 in a brief ceremony at the
facility. Chase was a patient at the hospital for several months earlier this
year.
Were very pleased that Mr. Chase was happy with the care
he received here during his rehabilitation, said Shop Steward Deborah Llewellyn,
a Housekeeping Aide. The entire staff here takes a lot pride in our work,
and for him to acknowledge us this way is very special.
Local
420 members in all of the public hospitals are the backbone of the entire Health
and Hospitals Corporation, said Togba Porte, 2nd vice president of Municipal
Hospital Employees Local 420, and this is a clear example of their dedication
to patient care.
The staff who took care of Chase included Housekeeping
Aide Ingrid Edwards and Patient Care Associates Antonio Denton, Sonia Gooden,
Norma McFarland, Patricia Thomas and Dawn Williams.
