DVD review Exposing the Koch brothers
"Koch Brothers Exposed" is a hard-hitting investigation of the 1 percent at their worst. This full-length documentary DVD by acclaimed director Robert Greenwald tells us about two of the world's richest and most powerful men, Charles and David Koch (pronounced coke), who are worth $50 billion together.
Not content to rip us off with the products of their far-flung domain, which includes huge oil and gas interests, they are building political power to buttress their economic empire. The billionaire brothers bankroll a vast network of organizations that work to undermine the interests of the 99 percent on issues ranging from Social Security to the environment to civil rights.
They gave millions to Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker for his union-busting campaign. They are also major funders of the Tea Party and the American Legislative Exchange Council, which creates and distributes model state legislation for union busting, voter suppression and privatization of public services.
This film uncovers the brothers' corruption - which is strengthened by the Citizens United U.S. Supreme Court decision that lets business dominate the political process with unlimited contributions. The Kochs alone are reported to be spending $60 million to defeat President Obama.
