Labor history forum Striking in difficult times
A labor history forum this month will analyze key strikes in the modern era of the labor movement.
Featured speakers include Joseph McCartin, author of "Collision Course: Ronald Reagan, the Air Traffic Controllers, and the Strike that Changed America," Ray Rogers, founder of the Corporate Campaign, and veteran of highly visible strike campaigns (Hormel; Staley; International Paper, and Con Edison/Local 1-2, UWUA1982); and Chris Rhomberg, author of "The Broken Table: The Detroit Newspaper Strike and the State of American Labor."
Forum moderators:
Nell Geiser, Researcher, Change to Win, and Faron McLurkin, Organizing Director, NY/NJ Regional Joint Board of Workers United/SEIU will moderate the discussion.
The forum will be held Thursday, Oct. 25, and begin at 6 p.m. It will take place at District Council 1707, 420 West 45 St. (between Ninth and Tenth
