The deadline for survivors and responders who were diagnosed on or before 10/12/2012 with a 9/11-related eligible cancer other than prostate and rare cancers to register with the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund is Oct. 12. The VCF provides financial compensation for people who suffered economic and non-economic losses resulting from injuries and illnesses caused by 9/11. Please note: the VCF's application process has two parts: registration and filing a claim. You must register to preserve your right to make a claim in the future.

For more information about the WTC Health Program or the VCF, you may call the Safety and Health Dept. at 212-815-1685 or visit their Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/WTCHealthDC37). The VCF may be reached at 855-885-1555 or their website www.vcf.gov.
