Flu shots available through December

As the flu season approaches, the city began a campaign to vaccinate thousands of New Yorkers, with an emphasis on encouraging all city workers to get the shot.

The kickoff event was held at Borough Hall in Manhattan, on Sept. 16. DC 37 Executive Director Henry Garrido spoke at the event, along with city officials and health care advocates, and he was among the first to get the flu vaccine.

City employees with a health insurance plan through the city are entitled to receive an annual free flu vaccination. The city will have vaccinations at worksites through October, and the program will continue through December with inoculations available at other sites.

You may schedule your appointment for a worksite vaccination online at https://www.apschedule.com/nycflu or calling 866-481-4391, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., You can schedule an appointment at an AdvantageCare Physicians location by going online at https://www.apschedule.com/acpnycflu or by calling 646-680-3000 weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or visiting your personal doctor or participating pharmacy.
