How to Apply for DC 37 and AFSCME Scholarships

Applications for the DC 37 Education Committee’s Scholarship Program and for the AFSCME Family Scholarships are available for members’ and retirees’ children and grandchildren as of Nov. 1 by calling (212) 341-4999.

In addition, the DC 37 Education Committee is sponsoring two Disabled Education Scholarships for members’ children and grandchildren, and the Evelyn Gaskin Memorial Scholarship is also open to members’ children and grandchildren who will be pursuing careers in education. Both scholarships are based on lotteries. The deadline for application for the Disabled Education Scholarships and the Evelyn Gaskin Memorial Scholarship is May 15, 2003. For more information or to get an application, call Larry Kelly or Asalia Carmona at (212) 341-4999. Coupons for both of these scholarships will appear in the December issue of PEP.

Applications for the AFSCME Union Plus Scholarship are available by writing to the Union Plus Scholarship Program, P.O. Box 348001, Washington, D.C. 20043-4800, or by accessing their Web site at www.AFSCME.org
