More settlements with city due

Another prevailing-rate group wrapped up negotiations for a nine-year contract with a total wage increase of 19.41 percent two days after Local 1320 concluded its contract talks.

Meeting at the Office of Labor Relations on Oct. 28, DC 37 and Local 1157 hammered out a pact that covers about 100 Highway Supervisors.

As PEP went to press, DC 37 and Prevailing Rate Employees Local 1087 prepared for a bargaining session to try to conclude an agreement for Radio Repair Mechanics and Locksmiths, who like Supervisor Highway Repairers, never received the two 4 percent wage increases of the previous round of bargaining during the administration of former Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg.

Local 1157 President Michael Coppola and Associate Director David Paskin of the DC 37 Research and Negotiations Dept. coordinated negotiations for the Supervisor Highway Repairers.

The economic agreement also covers members promoted to Area Supervisor.
