DC 37s Barbara
Edmonds is honored by the Renaissance Heath Care Network The
Renaissance Health Care Network of Northern Manhattan honored DC 37 Field Services
Director Barbara Edmonds Oct. 24 at the annual public meeting of its Community
Advisory Board.
Edmonds received the Charles H. Moore Jr. Community Service
Award, which was presented by Jackie Rowe-Adams, a member of the CAB and of the
DC 37 Executive Board.
CAB Vice President Barbara Taylor told Edmonds,
Your dedication to the delivery of quality health care for all has been
evident in the extraordinary efforts you have made to address the health care
needs in Central and West Harlem. Since this is a community that suffers disproportionately
from cancer, TB, AIDS and infant mortality, we are delighted to present this award
to you.
Rowe-Adams, who also sang One Day at a Time at
the meeting, said Edmonds deserved the award because of her involvement
with the community and her focus on health care issues.
The events
keynote speaker was Irene Corina of Persons United Limiting Substandard Errors,
who addressed issues of patient safety, and Harlem Hospital Executive Director
John M. Palmer, Ph.D.,delivered closing remarks. | |
