The Jewish Heritage Committee invites the DC 37 community to the union's annual Chanukah candle-lighting ceremony at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, the first night of the holiday. Rabbi Alvin Kass, a member of Local 299 and the Chief Chaplain of the Police Dept., will perform the ceremony. Executive Director Lillian Roberts and Committee Chair Dr. Leonard Davidman will speak.

DC 37 and the Wagner Labor Archives will officially open the union archives Dec. 8 with an exhibit on DC 37 history from the papers and photographs that are now in the collection and a public presentation of the guide to the archive to Executive Director Lillian Roberts. The event will take place at 6 p.m. Dec. 8 on the 10th floor of the NYU Library at 70 Washington Square South.

The Caribbean Heritage Committee will hold its annual Caribbean Christmas Breeze on Friday, Jan. 7. Admission will be $15. For more information look for fliers in the union lobby or call Committee Chair Carmen Charles at 212-815-1420.

The Political Action Committee will present a program honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at its January meeting at 6 p.m., on Thursday, Jan. 13. For more information, please call 212-815-1550.
