Black History Month at DC 37

DC 37’s Black History Committee invites everyone to honor African American achievements at its 26th annual Black History Month celebration. “Reflections” is the theme for a month-long tribute to the African American legacy of struggle and change that has shaped this nation.

Opening Night kicks off with a lively ceremony Thursday, Feb. 1, honoring the late Sherwyn Britton, former White Collar Division Director and Black History Committee co-chair. Education and advancement are on the agenda at DC 37 Family Day, Saturday, Feb. 10, featuring a college fair and activities for children of all ages. “Bullets, Justice and Reform,” is the topic of BHC’s seminar, Wednesday, Feb 14.

Throughout the month, locals will host cultural events featuring live entertainment, films and special guest speakers, so check the calendar below and be sure to attend. DC 37s Black History Month celebration will culminate on Finale Night, Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 6 p.m.
