Ed Fund announces changes in Tuition Reimbursement benefit

The DC37 Education Fund has announced important changes in the Tuition Reimbursement Program effective Jan. 1.

Members are eligible for reimbursement for job-related Civil Service and Continuing Education courses and for undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate courses offered by accredited institutions.

Conferences or test prep courses taken to pass a test for a professional license or certification or for New York State registration such as Social Workers, Engineers and Architects, as a condition of employment are also reimbursable.

However, test preparation courses such as the Graduate Management Admission Test, Law School Admission Test and the Graduate Record Examination are not reimbursable.

Membership fees for professional organizations are not reimbursable, nor are fees for the High School Equivalency or remedial courses.

The Ed Fund provides High School Equivalency and basic skills courses to eligible members free. To receive an application for these courses call 212-815-1700.

For additional questions regarding the Ed Fund's Tuition Reimbursement Program, call the program's office at 212-815-1663 or -1664.
