Marching for a breast cancer cure
DC 37 activists hit the streets in October to voice their support for greater breast-cancer research.
About 100 members of Clerical-Administrative Employees Local 1549 turned out in the five boroughs, including Prospect Park in Brooklyn, where Executive Vice President Alma Roper led a group.
Carmen Charles led a contingent of Hospital Employees Local 420 members in the American Cancer Society's annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in the city on Oct. 20.
Dept. of Education Employees Local 372 also participated in the annual fundraising event, which brought out tens of thousands of people to help the American Cancer Society meet its goal of raising $3 million.
