Black History Month

The DC 37 Black History Committee announces its 34th annual celebration of Black History Month, February 2015, beginning at 6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 2, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in the first floor gallery.

This year's theme, "The Courts and the Unions, a Recipe for Disaster," focuses on critical cases before the U.S. Supreme Court that threaten labor unions' rights to organize, and bargain collectively and collect dues from workers. The Black History Committee and various locals will mark the month that honors African Americans' rich contributions to history, culture and the labor movement.

DC 37's month-long celebration concludes on Finale Night, Friday, Feb. 27, at union headquarters, and Family Day will be celebrated in June. Members and their families and retirees are invited to attend all events.
