The next General Shop Stewards classes will be held on nine consecutive Tuesdays, from Feb. 20 through April 17.

Classes will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 125 Barclay St. in Room 200. Class dates are Feb. 20 and 27; March 6, 13, 20 and 27; and April 3, 10 and 17.

The course is designed to help shop stewards function more effectively. It is open to and encouraged for all stewards who have never taken the course and stewards who would like to review.

Classes will cover topics relevant to representing union members, such as civil service law, contract enforcement and union rights.

Stewards must attend seven out of the nine sessions to obtain a certificate at the end of the course.

Class size is limited, so please register early. Those who cannot be included will not be notified and put on a waiting list for the next session.
