Most members to get 4 percent raises in February or March

Under the union’s 2005-2008 economic agreement, members covered are due a 4 percent raise on Feb. 1.

In recent weeks, DC 37 has been working with employer labor relations officials to ensure that the raise is implemented as soon as possible.

City agencies, including the Dept. of Education, and the Health and Hospitals Corp. and the Transit Authority will pay the increase Feb. 23 with retroactive pay back to Feb. 1.

The Housing Authority will pay the rate increase and retro March 2. Members at the Off-Track Betting Corp. will get the 4 percent March 2 and the retro March 16.

The following dates for cultural institutions were tentative as PEP went to press: El Museo del Barrio, Hall of Science, Museum of the City of New York and Staten Island institutions — Feb. 2; Wave Hill — Feb. 9; and Brooklyn, New York and Queens botanical gardens — Feb. 16. The American Museum of Natural History will also pay in February.

Also, the Wildlife Conservation Society will pay employees on Feb. 8.

The Brooklyn Museum and Queens Borough Public Library are paying Feb. 16.

Brooklyn Academy of Music, the Brooklyn Children’s Museum, Brooklyn Public Library, New York Public Library and the Metropolitan Museum had not set pay dates as PEP went to press.

The economic agreement, which provides for 10.17 percent in compounded wage and other increases, runs from July 1, 2005, to March 2, 2008. In a mail-ballot vote, 97 percent of the covered members voted for the contract.
