Christmas tree funds charities
Generous DC 37 staffers in the Blue Collar and Hospitals divisions raised more than $330 in December to help fund research into curing muscular dystrophy. The collection was part of a holiday charity effort that has become a tradition on the fourth floor of DC 37 headquarters over the last five years.
Union employees and members contribute to the drive, decorating a small Christmas tree by pinning on bills ranging from singles on up. At the end of the holiday season, the funds are donated to a selected cause. Last year's collection went toward diabetes research and services.
Pictured with the charity tree are union reps and secretaries, Division Directors Audrey McConney and Jose Sierra, Local 1507 President Sirra Crippen and DC 37 Executive Director Lillian Roberts.
