Hey kids!

Does diversity matter?

If you are between 12 and 17, write an essay of no more than 500 words, answering the question: Why is diversity important in our schools? You could win $500 in cash!

Are you under 12? Answer the question in your own words. Submit your statement of 250 words or less. You could win $250.

Send your entries by March 30 to the National Campaign to Restore Civil Rights. For the complete contest rules, visit their Web site at www.rollbackcampaign.org.

Whatever age you are, please send a copy of your statement to Editor, Public Employee Press, District Council 37, 125 Barclay St., New York, NY 10007. Please include the name of your parent or grandparent who is a DC 37 member or retiree.

The campaign is a progressive, nonpartisan effort to connect people and groups who are deeply concerned about the destruction of our civil rights in the federal courts.
