Employee Press March is Womens
History Month Womens History Month at
DC 37
Tuesday,
March 11, at 5 p.m. the DC 37 Womens Committee will present a program in
memory of the late former committee chairs, Louise DeBow and Joan Reed.
Friday,
March 14 at 5 p.m., College Assistants Local 2054 will offer a memorial service
in loving memory of Joan H. Reed, former local president, DC 37 vice president
and AFSCME International vice president.
Tuesday, March 18 at 6 p.m. Municipal
Hospital Employees Union Local 420 will hold a book signing for author Geneva
Burch.
Thursday, March 20 at 6 p.m. MTA Clerical-Administrative Employees
Local 1655 will present Celebrating Women in Gospel with gospel singers
and a dance ensemble at 2 Broadway, 20th floor. Contact Nona Twiggs before March
14 at 646-252-7245 to have your name put on the visitors list for entrance. Please
note: You must have a photo ID to be admitted to the building.
Monday,
March 24 at 6 p.m. Electronic Data Processing Personnel Local 2627 will present
an evening of film highlighting the involvement of women in union activities.
The program will feature the classic With Babies and Banners, which
depicts the famous 1937 General Motors sit-down strike in Flint, Mich.
Monday,
March 31 at 6 p.m. Health Services Employees Local 768 will present a program
on Phenomenal Women of Local 768: Past and Present. | |
