April dates set for second 4 percent raises

Below are target dates for payment of the second 4 percent salary increase and hikes in Recurring Increment Payments under the current economic agreement:

Ratified in December by a 98 percent vote, the contract runs from March 3, 2008, through March 2, 2010, and includes 4 percent raises due March 3, 2008, and March 3, 2009.

Mayoral Agencies: second 4 percent increase on rate and overtime and retroactive amounts – April 3; 4 percent increase on RIP, with retro – April 17.

NYCHA: second 4 percent increase on rate – April 10; retro on rate, RIP increase and retro on RIP – April 24.

HHC: second 4 percent due March 3 will be paid April 3 to full-time employees and April 10 to part-time employees.

Dept. of Education: Contract dates for Family Paraprofessionals are slightly different. The Family Paras will receive the increase due May 11, 2009, in their May 28 check, which will include eight days at the May 11, 2008, rate and two days at the May 11, 2009, rate. Second 4 percent due March 3 for all other units will be paid April 2 to hourly employees and April 3 to annual employees.

Cultural institutions (except as noted) and library systems had not set pay dates as PEP went to press. The union is pressing the School Construction Authority and other employers to implement the contract.

Transit Authority: First 4 percent retroactive paid on March 5. Second rate and retroactive due March 3 to be announced. Metropolitan Museum: Second 4 percent wage increase paid March 11; retroactive on March 25.

For members to receive the second pay raise, their bargaining units must certify that they have no further demands.
