Mobilizing against cuts:
Winning with Weprin

DC 37’s Green Machine volunteers helped Democrat David Weprin, a former City Council member, coast to victory Feb. 9, in a special election for a Queens Assembly seat.

Running on the Democrat, Independent and Working Families tickets, Weprin won 62 percent of the vote. He will represent the 24th district’s neighborhoods of Bellerose, Floral Park, Fresh Meadows, Glen Oaks, Hollis Court, Holliswood, Jamaica Estates, Little Neck, Meadowlark Gardens, Oakland Gardens, Queens Village and Windsor Park.

Weprin served for eight years in the City Council, where he chaired the Finance Committee. His brother Mark and father Saul also represented the 24th district.
