Union college classes at new site

With the DC 37 headquarters building closed until later this year for repairs of the extensive damage caused by Hurricane Sandy, the union college is in full operation at a temporary "home away from home." The DC 37 campus of the College of New Rochelle is now holding most spring semester classes on the 21st floor of 30 Broad St. in lower Manhattan. Campus administrative offices have also been relocated to the new location. Telephone: 914-654-5730.

"Our new temporary home provides our students with all of the services of the DC 37 campus, including, full-time faculty advisors, seven classrooms, computer labs, multiple study areas and administrative offices," said DC 37 Campus Director Stephen Greenfeld. The new location is close to public transportation and parking.

The campus also holds classes at St. John's University across Murray Street from DC 37 headquarters.

CNR will be holding information sessions every Monday evening for union members who want more information about enrolling at CNR and beginning a degree program. The sessions, where members can meet individually with college advisors and discuss their plans and concerns, begin at 6 pm at the 30 Broad Street location.

Despite Hurricane Sandy's devastation, CNR was up and running last semester, completing a full fall semester at campuses in the Bronx, Harlem and Brooklyn.

"We remain committed to assisting all of our students in the progression through the completion of the spring semester in a timely manner, and graduating candidates will remain on target for the 2013 commencement," Greenfeld said.
