Help fight the tax giveaway

In less than five minutes, you can register your opposition to the Bush tax giveaway by sending your senators a message through the Web site of DC 37’s parent union, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees. Go to www.afscme.org and follow the instructions for sending a message by e-mail, fax or regular mail.

You can also write Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Charles Schumer at United States Senate, The Capitol, Washington, D.C. 20510. You may also call them through a toll-free number, 1-800-393-1082.

AFSCME has helped put together the Fair Taxes for All Coalition, a group of more than 500 labor, civil rights, environmental, religious and community organizations, to fight the Bush plan.

“President Bush’s gigantic tax cut for the rich doesn’t make economic sense, and it doesn’t make moral sense,” AFSCME President Gerald W. McEntee, said. “Why not save and spend in a way that will help all Americans?”
