Members put the HEAT on Bush’s health cuts

You can help fight Bush’s cuts

President Bush is trying to destroy our public hospital system in New York City!

His proposals would change the Health & Hospitals Corp.’s public hospitals in our communities. HHC would lose over $570 million in federal Medicaid and Medicare funding in 2008. Over the next five years, HHC hospitals face a cut of more than $3.7 billion!

Bush’s cuts must be stopped. Our communities can’t afford any more cuts in public hospital funding. We serve those most in need of care. Stop the cuts by sending the coupon below to the DC 37 Political Action Dept. at 125 Barclay St., New York, NY 10007. They will forward your message to your representatives in the U.S. Congress. We can’t afford to wait!

Fight Bush's health cuts
Return coupon to: DC 37 Political Action Dept., 125 Barclay St., New York, NY 10007

Dear Legislator:
I am writing to thank you for your continued effort in opposing proposed reductions by the Bush Administration in much needed funding streams from Medicaid and Medicare that would impact the NYC Health and Hospitals Corp., which serves over 1.3 million patients a year, including over 400,000 uninsured patients.
However, I ask that you continue to urge the Bush administration and your colleagues in Congress to stop these cuts, which total $3.7 billion over five years. As a critical safety net provider in our public health care delivery system in New York City, HHC cannot afford to lose these funds.
