As the United States redefines its national and global priorities while grappling with an epic economic crisis, the College of New Rochelle will hold a forum on President Barack Obama’s foreign policy initiatives on Friday, April 24, in Room 200. Titled “President Obama and U.S. Foreign Policy: Realpolitik or Idealism?” the discussion will be the third in the Distinguished Adjunct Faculty Roundtable Series, which is presented by CNR’s DC 37 Campus to expose students and the union community to currentaffairs shaping our world. The DC 37 Citizenship Committee will hold its 2nd annual Citizenship and Immigration Forum on Wednesday, April 22. Presentations will be made by the city comptroller’s office, the U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security, the New York Civic Participation Project, private attorneys and the union’s Municipal Employees Legal Service. The DC 37 Caribbean Heritage Committee invites members to come and bring their families and friends to its 5th Annual Interfaith Service on Wednesday, April 29, at union headquarters. For more information, call 212-815-1420.

65th anniversary events:

June 13 – DC 37 turns 65 this year, and the planned events include a performance of the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater on Saturday, June 13, at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. A limited number of discounted tickets will be sold in the DC 37 lobby from 5:30 to 7 p.m., April 15 through May 15. Rear Mezzanine seats will be $40 (reduced from $55) and balcony seats $13 (reduced from $25) by cash or money order only.
