Dental plan goes digital to speed claims

The DC 37 Health & Security Plan has started to use a new standardized dental form, which should speed claims processing.

The plan has replaced its old form with the standard American Dental Association claim form.

Under a new procedure, dentists have started to file claims electronically through a service known as SecureTrack Dental, which also lets dentists verify the eligibility for
benefits of members and retirees online.

The electronic system will speed up the process of filing claims because the dentists will no longer need to call the DC 37 Health & Security Plan to check eligibility. In addition, dentists who register with SecureTrack Dental will no longer have to mail forms to the plan.

Plan participants who use nonparticipating dentists can request the new form by calling the plan's claim forms line at 212-815-1531. They may also download the form from the union's website at www.dc37.net. On the website, click "Benefits," then "Health and Security Plan" and then "Dental," where you will find a link for the form.

SecureTrack Dental is a service of Secure EDI Inc., the plan's claims clearing house. SecureTrack Dental's web service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Because it does not require special software, the service is easily accessible to dentists. SecureTrack Dental's website is at
