Local 1549 hosts college fair

The Local 1549 Education Committee held their first college fair for members. The committee invited representatives from area colleges to talk to union members about the degree programs they offer. Representatives from Lehman College in the Bronx, Baruch College in Manhattan and Monroe College attended the Saturday fair at DC 37 headquarters on Feb. 25. Representatives from the Fire Dept. High School for Fire and Life Safety and the Municipal Credit Union also attended.

"We want to help our members who are thinking about continuing their education," said Yolette Green, chair of the Education Committee.
