Union Committees in Action

DC 37 committees are responding to the challenges of a more participatory union by offering more programs and involving more members than ever before. To get involved with union committees, call Program Director Frances M. Curtis at (212) 815-1502.

DC 37 Housing Conference
The DC 37 Housing Committee and Chase Bank are sponsoring a Housing Conference on Saturday, June 16, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at DC 37 headquarters, 125 Barclay Street, NYC, in Room 1. Information will be presented in English and Spanish. Panelists will discuss the conference theme, “Addressing the Affordable Housing Crisis in the 21st Century.” Affordable housing advocates and officials from federal, state, and city housing agencies will explain their agencies’ roles in resolving New York City’s urgent housing crisis. For additional information, contact Barry Jamison at (212) 815-7554 or Carmen Burgess at (212) 815-1502.

Learn more about investing
District Council 37 will soon be offering an innovative educational program designed to help members reach their financial goals, learn more about investing and develop greater confidence in their financial future. The program has been developed in cooperation with Vanguard, a firm with over 50 years experience in investment advisory services.

The Financial and Investment Services Educational Program — FISEP — will be launched in September. Next month, PEP will include a registration coupon with questions that will help Vanguard and the union customize the seminars and workshops to best meet members’ needs. A large turnout is expected, but space will be limited, so please complete the coupon you will see in the next issue of PEP and return it promptly.
