Roberts is featured in
NAACP magazine District Council 37 Executive Director Lillian
Roberts is featured in the March-April issue of The Crisis, the official magazine
of the NAACP. The issue commemorates Womens History Month in March,
with articles about African American women trailblazers who have made a difference
in our nation. The four-page story on Roberts, Back in the Ring
by Audrey Edwards, calls her the heavyweight champion of labor organizers.
It continues, Twenty-one years after leaving the union she helped build,
labor organizer Lillian Roberts is back in the ring. I never really left,
Roberts says of her return as the unions leader. The union was always
a part of my soul. The NAACP started the magazine in 1910
with the famed writer, educator, historian, Pan-Africanist and civil rights leader
W.E.B. Du Bois as its founding editor. District Council 37 members who
