Employee Press Florida
dental network is discontinued A network of dentists
that provided services for retirees in Florida and Georgia has discontinued its
contract with the DC 37 Health and Security Plan.
Working with the Retirees
Association of DC 37, the plan established a relationship with Comprehensive Professional
Systems in 2006 to beef up its dental services in the two states. CPSs panel
agreed to the plans fee schedule in addition to a fixed member co-payment.
Last
month, plan Administrator Cynthia Chin-Marshall wrote retirees in Florida and
Georgia to inform them that CPS was dropping out of the plan as of April 30.
The
plan advises Florida retirees to use a network of dentists who continue to participate
in the DC 37 dental plan, and it is seeking to expand the number of participating
providers there. Unfortunately, the plan has no participating dentists in Georgia.
Retirees
in Georgia and Florida who use their own dentists should submit claim forms to
the DC 37 Health and Security Plan for reimbursement based on the plans
fee schedule.
If you are currently receiving treatment and your dentist
is interested in becoming a participating provider in the DC 37 plan, please have
him or her contact the plan at 212-815-1600.
Retirees outside the New York
City metropolitan region should call 877-323-7738 to inquire about their DC 37
benefits.
