Retiree blasts war

Everybody is talking about the recession, higher prices and fuel costs. The holy war started by our president has brought these troubles to the globe. Bush has also sacrificed the lives of 4,000 American personnel, injured some 30,000 and killed thousands of innocents in Iraq. He left the Afghanistan war in the middle and started another in Iraq.

Mr. McCain is also harping the same tune and says openly that he will fight the Iraq war for 100 years.

The whole Muslim world is dead against America, all because of this president, who is going to leave $10 trillion in debt at the end of this year. World War I ended and World War II also ended, but the Iraq war started by Bush and his associates will never end and Americans will continue to suffer.

I therefore suggest that after the president leaves the White House, he, Mr. Cheney, Rumsfeld and other champions of the Iraq War should be sent to Iraq for one year so that they may know the pain and sufferings of the war. Mr. McCain, if he loses, should also be sent along with them.

—Chandur D. Malkani
Retiree, Local 1549
