Booktalk June 20

On Monday, June 20, the DC 37 Education Fund in conjunction with the DC 37 Women's Committee, Education Committee and Local 1482 (Brooklyn Library Guild) will be hosting an Author's Talk by Marcia Y. Cantarella.

She will be discussing her book "I Can Finish College: The Overcome Any Obstacle and Get Your Degree Guide," which outlines her practical advice on how students can enter and complete college.The book is based on her experiences with students and her educational colleagues.

Copies of the book will be on sale and Dr. Cantarella will sign copies for purchasers. For more information on this event, please call the Education Fund at 212-815-1700.

Applications for fall classes

Applications for Fall 2011 Education Fund programs will be available in the June issue of PEP as well as in the Education section of the DC 37 website beginning in June.

The Education Fund will hold its Fall 2011 Registration Week from Monday, June 13, to Saturday, June 18.

Whether you plan on returning to a current class or would like to register for a new class, be sure to stop by the registration table in the 2nd floor lobby area of union headquarters at 125 Barclay Street from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

Need help with your résumé? Thinking about going back to school but don't know where to start? Career and educational counseling is available to all eligible union members to answer these questions and more.

Counselors are available at union headquarters, 125 Barclay St, and at designated sites in all five boroughs. You do not have to be currently enrolled in an Education Fund program to see a counselor. To make an appointment or for more information, please call 212-815-1647.
