Do you have dependents on your health insurance?
The city says employees and retirees must verify covered dependents by Aug. 31

New York City will be conducting an audit and verification process involving all city employees and retirees who have dependents enrolled for health insurance under family contracts.

A mailing about the dependency audit will be sent to all such employees and retirees beginning in mid-May.

The city has announced that all employees and retirees must verify their listed dependents by Aug. 31 and that failure to do this will result in termination of health insurance coverage for the dependents (but not for the employee).

If it does not receive the verification by the Aug. 31 deadline, the city says it will change the coverage to an individual contract from a family contract.
