Union mourns Dolores Berg Brower

Dolores Berg Brower, a former Assistant Director of the DC 37 Clerical Division and one of the founding members of the Clerical- Administrative Employees Local 1549, passed away March 18 in Miami.

"Dolores was a great union organizer," said retired DC 37 Rep John Beuscher, who was her colleague in Local 1549 at Bellevue Hospital in what was then the New York City Dept. of Hospitals.

Brower, who was born in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, began working for the city in 1965 and moved to Florida when she retired.

In Miami, she quickly got involved with the DC 37 Retirees Association and was instrumental in helping to open up an office to service the growing number of retirees living in the Miami area. "The members in Florida really appreciate all of the great work she did for them," said Beuscher, who also moved to Miami when he retired.

Dolores Berg Brower is survived by two sisters and her nieces and nephews.
