Tom Brosnan wins high praise as “a real humanist”

Local 420’s Tom Brosnan, at left, never stops working to improve his skills, both as a union activist and as a worker at Coney Island Hospital.

PEP caught up with the 35-year veteran unionist April 21 at the District Council 37 Lobbying Institute, where he proudly showed us his latest honor.

In April, Brosnan received the hospital’s Award of Excellence for successfully completing its Professional Development Coaching Program. Training Director Young Lee said the program is designed “to help people with special talent and strength improve further in their strong points.”

Brosnan, a Nurses’ Aide, Transport Escort, “is a real humanist who cares deeply about other people,” said Lee. “He has tremendous empathy with our patients.”

“We are all very proud of Tommy Brosnan’s accomplishments,” said Local 420 President Carmen Charles.
