Police Foundation cites Ruby Goode

Ruby Goode, a Supervising Nutritionist and member of Local 768, was honored March 8 at the annual New York Police Foundation Gala. She received the Hemmerdinger Award for Excellence, which encourages and recognizes acts of exceptional public service.

The foundation recognized Goode for promoting the principles of good health and fitness through personal counseling and training. Her competitive weight reduction and wellness group, her series of brochures on nutrition and diet and custom-tailored guidance have resulted in positive lifestyle changes and improved health for many Police Dept. employees.

After many years of distinguished service as a Nutritionist with other city agencies, Goode joined the New York City Police Dept. in 1991. Soon after her appointment, she made a personal commitment to help see to it that “New York’s Finest” were also “New York’s Healthiest.”
Last year, Ms. Goode celebrated her 50th year of service as an employee of the City of New York.
