Day and rally for health-care reform
June
25 Washington, D.C. On June 25, thousands of union
members will come to the nations capital to join in the largest health-care
lobbying effort in history. Together with celebrities and congressional leaders,
we will rally for real reform that will make a difference in the lives of all
working people.
President Barack Obama says the United States should offer
quality, affordable health care for all including a new public health insurance
option that would make private insurers reduce costs and improve benefits to compete.
The plan would reduce premiums by at least 25 percent, more than the 10 percent
Mayor Bloomberg is trying to force city employees to pay.
Right-wing ideologues
and insurance industry front groups are already pumping millions of dollars into
deceptive TV ads to smear the public alternative and sink real reform. We need
to answer with our people power.
