Maynard Anderson retires

Maynard Anderson, assistant director of the Professional Division, celebrated his retirement after 24 years of service to DC 37.

His colleagues from the Professional Division and Civil Service Technical Guild Local 375 shared great memories of the battles they fought and won together at his retirement party.

Local 2507 President Israel Miranda, Local 384 President Esther (Sandy) Tucker and SSEU Local 371 President Anthony Wells were among the many union leaders who acknowledged and thanked Anderson for his many years of work on their behalf.

Anderson worked as a Council Rep in the Professional Division before being appointed to assistant director. Before coming to DC 37, he was an elected officer of Local 375 and worked as a grievance rep in its office.

His professionalism, sense of humor and calm demeanor during difficult times endeared him to his colleagues and members.

"Maynard will be sorely missed by everyone in the division and throughout DC 37," Professional Division Director Nola Brooker said.
