The DC 37 Education Department and the DC 37 Education Committee are pleased to offer a Preparatory Course for the SAT College Entrance Examination for high school seniors beginning Sept. 8 and ending Oct. 27. These classes are for 12th graders who are taking the Scholastic Assessment Test I in November. (Note: There are no classes Oct. 6.)

The registration fee is $40 for members’ children and $50 for nonmembers’ children. Students will participate in seven four-hour class sessions designed to sharpen math and verbal skills and develop valuable test-taking techniques.

Part of the first class will include a tape presentation on the SAT exam. Included in the registration fee will be “Taking the SAT,” a complete guide to the Scholastic Assessment Test. In addition, each student will be required to purchase an SAT review book.

Similar courses in New York City usually charge two to three times the fee charged by DC 37. We are proud to be able to bring this program to our members’ children at a reasonable cost. We will offer these classes again in the spring.

Applicants may register for this course by completing the coupon at right, and returning it with a money order made payable to District Council 37. (No personal checks are accepted.) All accepted applicants will be notified by mail.

The deadline for the submission of applications will be Aug. 15. Classes will be held on Saturdays at union headquarters from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Enrollment is limited. Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Children of DC 37 members receive priority in enrollment.
