Shop Steward course starts in September

District Council 37’s next General Shop Steward classes will be held on nine consecutive Wednesdays, from Sept. 19 through Nov. 14.

Classes will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Room 200 at union headquarters, 125 Barclay St. in lower Manhattan.

Representing union members
The course is designed to help shop stewards function more effectively. It is open to and encouraged for all District Council 37 local union shop stewards who have never taken the course and stewards who would like to review.

Classes will cover topics relevant to representing union members, such as civil service law, contract enforcement and union rights.

Stewards must attend seven out of the nine sessions to obtain a certificate at the end of the course.

Please keep this article as a reminder of the dates. No further notice will be given, and you will not be contacted.

Register early for fall
Class size is limited, so please register early.

Late registrants will be notified and put on a waiting list for the next session of the course.
