Are
you looking for an interesting way to spend a Saturday morning or afternoon? Develop
a new hobby or learn to sing or play the guitar at DC 37.
The following
classes will be offered by the Education Department on Saturdays beginning Sept.
21. Registration for all classes will take place on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 9:00
a.m. to noon 2nd floor lobby area at 125 Barclay St., New York, NY.
Classes
will be arranged according to age group. All classes will meet for 12 weeks and
the fee for each program is $40. Bring only money orders made payable to District
Council 37. No cash or personal checks will be accepted. Note: Class fees
do not include equipment.
Dance classes will not be offered during
the fall 2000 semester.
The classes listed here are available to employees
whose titles fall under the jurisdiction of DC 37, including their spouses and
dependent children, and retirees. Class size is limited to 15 students.

Guitar
Guitar classes are for children age 8 to adults. Beginners ages 12 and up meet
11 a.m.-12 noon or 12 noon -1:00 p.m.; beginners children ages 8 to 10 meet 1:00
p.m.-2:00 p.m.; adult intermediate/
advanced meet 2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.
Photography/Digital
Instruction on
the parts of the camera, how to take good pictures, various effects that can be
achieved through different techniques, etc.
This class does not include darkroom
instruction. Students must bring their own camera and film. The class will be
held from 10 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Open to ages 15 to adult.
Yoga
Master the basics of achieving balance in your life through the discipline of
Yoga. There will be eight sessions. These classes are only for beginners ages
18 and up. The classes are specifically tailored for relaxation and toning. The
fee for the yoga class will be $30.
Voice
Instruction in learning to sing at the beginner's level.
Ages 8 to 15 meet
12:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m.; ages 16 and up meet 1:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m.
