Quality of Work Life
HRA holds Employee Recognition Award Ceremony

Employees with 25, 30, 35 and 40 years of service were feted June 4 at a program organized by the QWL Program at the Human Resources Administration. Clerical-Administrative Employees Local 1549 President Eddie Rodriguez was one of many speakers who celebrated the honorees’ career accomplishments. “Many of you here today were members of Local 1549 and have moved on,” he pointed out. “We believe in letting go so that you can move forward.”

Rhonda E. Bingham is one of those individuals. Up until her promotion a year ago, she was a member of Local 1549. “I thank the Lord for my 25 years,” she said. “It feels wonderful to be honored.”

Jobs Opportunity Specialist Willie Lampley of SSEU Local 371 is also a 25-year HRA veteran. “It makes you feel good that somebody appreciated the work we’ve done for the city,” he said. Looking back, he feels a sense of gratitude. “I’m grateful that I’ve made a difference helping people in crisis.” As Local 371 Vice President Faye Moore observed, “When you commit your life to poor people, you demonstrate that you are the best this city has to offer.”
