Obama for president

The endorsement of any American labor union for president must involve a close examination of the historical facts for each candidate. The Clinton administration was the prime enabler of the wholesale outsourcing of the manufacturing base to China, India, etc., only to be enhanced by the Bush fiasco. Remember all the scandals involving the Clinton-Chinese relationships and dealings.

In contrast, Mr. Obama’s resumé consists of his extensive work in Chicago with the poor and civil rights issue.

The Clintons are the “elitists,” not the other Democratic candidate, and I suggest that you reconsider who my union should endorse as the presidential candidate in November.

—Don Hockman
Retiree, Local 768
