Multicultural group honors Maf Misbah Uddin

DC 37 Treasurer and Local 1407 President Maf Misbah Uddin received the annual "Humanitarian of the Year" award May 20 from the Federation of Multicultural Programs of New York & New Jersey.

Uddin was honored at the group's annual gala on May 20 at the Astoria World Manor in Queens.

Danny King, the group's president and CEO, expressed appreciation for Uddin's long-time support of the organization.

Since its founding in 1963, the federation has opened 21 group homes for mentally challenged adults with disabilities in New York City and New Jersey.

Thanks to the generosity of supporters like Uddin, the federation helps the residents in the homes better enjoy life, said King.
