Local 299 awards scholarships

Natasha Smith and Kamora Adams were recipients of $1,000 scholarships awarded by Local 299. The local's president, Jackie Rowe-Adams, established the Rev. Mychal Judge Scholarship, to honor the memory of the Local 299 Chaplain who was killed while assisting first responders on Sept. 11 at the World Trade Center.

The scholarships are awarded every May. Children and grandchildren of Local 299 members in good standing are eligible.

They must be high school graduates and have an official acceptance letter from a college or university. To apply for the scholarship members can contact Local 299.
