It’s Alam in Queens District 25

DC 37 strongly urges members to vote for Democrat Morshed Alam for state Assembly in Queens Dist. 25 on Primary Day, Sept. 12.

Alam is an active member of DC 37’s Civil Service Technical Guild Local 375 who works as an Environmental Scientist at the Dept. of Environmental Protection.

“Labor leader Brian McLaughlin represented this community well, and I believe having another union person represent the district will be helpful to working families,” said Alam. Dist. 25 includes the Queens neighborhoods of Whitestone, Flushing, Fresh Meadow, parts of Jamaica and Richmond Hill.

Active in the community, Alam is president of the New Americans Democratic Organization of New York, a 400-member lobbying group formed to ensure the rights of new citizens.

He is also a commissioner of the New York City Voter Assistance Commission, and was twice a local school board member.
