Activists march in Dominican Day Parade

Executive Director Henry Garrido joined the thousands of Dominican New Yorkers Aug. 9 for the annual Dominican Day Parade. Garrido, who was born in the D.R., marched down Fifth Avenue with a contingent of community leaders and DC 37 members.

"I'm proud to be here today representing DC 37 in this wonderful parade," Garrido said.

Earlier in the morning parade organizers held a breakfast attended by many city officials, among them Comptroller Scott Stringer and state Sen. Adriano Espaillat.
