REMEMBERING 9/11: 15 YEARS LATER DC 37 marks a somber anniversary DC 37 held its annual memorial for the four union members who perished in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. Elected leaders, activists and staff gathered outside the main entrance of union headquarters on Sept. 12 to remember the Rev. Mychal F. Judge, FDNY Chaplain, Local 299; Carlos Lillo, Paramedic, Local 2057; OTB Betting Clerk Chet Louie, Local 2021; and Lt. Ricardo Quinn, Paramedic, Local 3621. DC 37 Executive Director Henry Garrido, DC 37 President Eddie Rodriguez and DC 37 Secretary Walthene Primus offered poignant remarks as they paid tribute not only to the four victims but also to other members who have passed away since 9/11 because of illnesses caused by their work at Ground Zero. "There is no greater example of sacrifice of city employees than the dedication shown by the workers who responded on that fateful day," said Garrido. — GNH
