group lauds Maf Misbah Uddin
The
Chinese-American Association of the City of New York honored DC 37 Treasurer Maf
Misbah Uddin at its annual awards ceremony.
Uddin, who is also president
of Accountants, Statisticians and Actuaries Local 1407, was honored along with
six other civil servants. The group held its 17th Anniversary Celebration and
2007 Recognition Awards Ceremony Nov. 30 at the Golden Ridge Restaurant in Chinatown.
Uddin
received the associations Appreciation Award in recognition
of his work as chair of the DC 37 Asian Heritage Committee.
The association
credited Uddin for bringing forth the Asian contribution and culture to
American society and especially to the entire DC 37 family. The association
credited Uddin with increasing committee membership, as well as encouraging Asian
members to register to vote and participate in DC 37 political activities.
The
Chinese-American Association of the City of New York advocates the rights of Chinese-Americans
in the city workforce, promoting equal opportunity and supporting career development
and training programs. It aims to highlight the contributions of the more than
4,000 Chinese-Americans in the city workforce. | |
