Kings County Civil Judge Dweynie E. Paul and City Council member Darlene Mealy of Brooklyn were guest speakers. With a theme based on Maya Angelou's poem "Still I Rise," the event was organized by Michelle Keller-Ng, the local's first vice president and Women's Organizing Committee chair. "The good news is you don't know how great you can be and how much you can love, empower and inspire someone else to rise," said Annette Brown emcee and committee chair. Local 375 represents some 7,000 men and women who are Engineers, Architects, Scientists, Chemists and Planners. They design and maintain the city's vast infrastructure of roadways, subways, water and sewer systems and public schools. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
